Outdoor Additional

I started my Track and Field career off participating in outdoor during the spring season of my junior year. I had always had an interest in running but didn't think I was "good enough" to make my schools D1 Track Team. After finally getting the nerve to try out my coach told me that I had a lot talent and placed me on the varsity team. I was very impressed with my self and my whole attitude towards running changed. Unfortunately, my season came to an end early ( only getting to run in a total of three meets) when I was diagnosed with tendentious. Being healed and stronger now, I plan to run track again this year as a senior, and next year as a freshmen in college.

Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?
-
Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.
-
Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

As a student-athlete it is very important to me that I maintain a healthy lifestyle both during the season and during the off season. In order to do so, I eat a healthy diet and take regular trips to the gym where I focus on my legs, arms, and core. Getting a good workout in everyday if not every other allows me to feel confident about my self both on the track and off

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I currently volunteer at a local animal shelter performing simple duties that have large impacts on animals lives. I also take part in AAUSS ( Adopt A US Soldier) where i write letters and send care packages to a current deployed solider. Both these acts allow me to complete service hours to the community as well as feel good about my work that I am contributing to others.
