Personal Highlights

I am excited to have the opportunity to compete at the collegiate level in cross country, indoor track and outdoor. I come from an outstanding high school running program at Newton South High School, where many of our athletes go on to run in college. I would like to continue that tradition and contribute in whatever way I can to a college's running program. My goals for college running include qualifying for nationals, continuing to improve and set personal records, and to be a supportive, productive teammate. In high school, I have been fortunate to qualify for the New Balance Nationals in the Championship 5000m, the freshman two mile, and the 4 x 1 mile relay, and hope to have the opportunity to compete at the national level in college. I intend to study computer science and biology or bioengineering as an undergraduate, and would like to get involved in academic research in computational biology, eventually going on to graduate studies. My family has a strong history in running - my mom was a two-time All-American cross country runner and a 9:28 3000m runner in college, and my dad was a collegiate miler (4:17) and a Rhodes Scholar. My mom is currently a physician at Massachusetts General Hospital and on the faculty at Harvard Medical School, while my dad is the Termeer Professor of Medical Engineering & Science at MIT.
