Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?
-
Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

In hockey I demonstrate leadership because I have made it a goal of mine to help other players improve as well as myself. Also I try my best to support my teammates by letting them know that they're playing good or that they had a really good play the last shift. Off the field and especially in school i try to be a good example to others. I am also a big advocate of standing up to someone if they're being a bully or hurting someone else.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

To be a student-athlete myself i really haft to juggle a lot around between school, sports, and everything else. In my life i have really made it a point to always put school and family first because they're both very important to me. Aside from school and family sports are my number one go to because they make me feel good and healthy. Also while I'm playing and training for sports i always try to push myself to become better but i also realize that i need to be healthy about training my body so i don't cause injury. It is important to me to have a healthy athletic performance because i want to improve and accomplish my goals but also i realize that i cannot push myself to hard and that i need to be safe about what i do.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I do various activities each month to provide meals and social interaction to people who don't have those necessities in their lives, i do these activities with my local religious group. Also in the summer of 2015 I helped to collect shoes and supplies to take to Haiti and then traveled to Haiti to give service to children in orphanages and widows. Doing service is important to me because I have seen the impact it can have in ones life. By just talking to someone who maybe doesn't get talked to everyday you can make them feel loved and have hope for the future.
