I want to be recruited to play volleyball in college because I am ready to continue my career to the next step. I want to build strong relationships with all of my teammates and friendships that will last a lifetime. I want to succeed, laugh, train, and have fun with my teammates all at the collegiate level.
As an individual, I show my leadership skills on and off the court frequently. Not only do I lead others in the right direction, I enjoy seeing my peers succeed. For example, I realized one of my classmates was struggling in chemistry so I tutored her after school. With this extra help, her grades improved. On the court, I believe it's really important to be competitive, yet bring positive energy. By bringing positive energy, my teammates feed off of it which leads us to success. Because of my strong leadership skills, I have been captain on multiple school and club teams.
In order to pursue a healthy athletic performance, I make sure to consume a diet high in fruits, vegetables, and proteins. It is important to stay hydrated before and after playing or working out. The night before big tournament days I make sure my meal is full of carbohydrates. I make sure to get enough sleep so my body is well rested. As well, it is important to ice my muscles when sore to rejuvenate them for the following training.
I completed my lifeguard and CPR certification to lifeguard at a pool over the summer. As I was unaware of how many kids struggled with swimming, I decided to teach swim lessons to kids in need through my own pool at my house. I taught many lessons to kids who feared the water and others who just did not know how to swim. I believe teaching these children to swim supported my community in order to keep them safe around water. I think it is important to have kids be able to swim safely and effectively in different types of water so less accidents are prone to occur.
