Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

My love for the game of volleyball runs strong and deep. It's my dream to be able to play the sport as long as possible. I have made life long friends and relationships because of this sport and it has made me become a better person. I believe that if i am fortunate enough to be able to continue to play in college, that I can really contribute to the team and continue to improve as an athlete and as a person. I want to be the best athlete I can be and playing at the college level will provide me with that opportunity for growth.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

I was nominated by my teachers at school to be a link crew leader. I get to help the incoming new students learn the school campus and help them when they have questions. Introduce them to their teachers and show them how things work and try to make them feel welcome.
I have been a team captain for for both my school volleyball and club teams for the last three years. I try to be a good role model as far as my hard work and keeping a good attitude when the calls aren't going our way. I try to keep my teammates motivated and positive and be a good help to my coaches when they need me.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

A good performance starts off the court first with good grades, good attitude, and a healthy body. Doing well in school is just as important to me as doing well on the court. I think succeeding in my classes and daily life gives me extra motivation to take care of my body and train hard to be the best I can be on the court. I want to be able to give my team and my coach 150 percent all the time. I like to win, but I think that you can learn a lot from an occasional loss. Not getting frustrated and learning how to keep working through tough times is what I think a healthy attitude should be. That is what I try to put into my daily life and my athletic performance.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

Volunteering at the cancer center is fun and important to me because I want to go into the medical field and it's very interesting to me. I have had a lot of relatives and good family friends die from cancer so it makes me feel good to try to help any way I can too.
