Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

I hope to play lacrosse in college, and realize the important responsibility that entails. I am a student athlete and will do my very best to "honor the game", respect my coaches and teammates, and display strength of character representing my institution.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

I am the founding member and President of the F.R.I.E.N.D.S.Club, which is a club where regular ed students partner up with Special Needs students during their time in high school. We spend time with the students and participate in school activities with them.
On the field, I currently start and run our conditioning sessions for my coach until he arrives, also calling Captain's practices and encouraging my teammates to work together as much as possible.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I pursue "healthy athletic performance" by doing by very best to make sure that I am always present at team conditioning, practices and all extra sessions. I truly love this sport, and have played lacrosse year round since I was in eighth grade!
It's important to me as a student athlete to learn as much as I can from my coaches and teammates. We learn much more than the sport itself! We learn strength of character, integrity, perseverance, diligence, and sportsmanship! I'm so very grateful for everything that I have learned.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I am very involved in my community and my school! I'm currently involved in seven clubs holding offices in two of them. Special Olympics events are very dear to me as my mother is a Special Needs educator, and I try to assist as much as I can. I work with the Kiwanis Club as a District Liaison for State Representation.
I am very thankful for all that my community has given me, and I will always feel that it is important to give back!
