Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

Pure love of competition and the game. Being something bigger than me.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

I believe because of my size - I more model behavior, attitude and effort than anything else. People always take notice of me - I just act right and do the right thing which other people see.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I take care of myself to be the best physically and mentally that I can be. I don't eat fast food/junk food, after tournaments I spend time icing my body and going to physical therapy to heal before my next practice or tournament. I do things such as yoga that I don't like but, know it helps my body stay balanced. Rest is also important - I go to bed at reasonable times to make sure I can concentrate at school and am not tired there or at practice. It's a lifestyle not something I do on the side.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

AAU team runs free basketball camps to teach elementary school kids the fundamentals of basketball. Players coach kids within the community who may not have had the opportunity to be exposed to being part of a team before. It provides younger kids a healthy outlet and sets them up for a different possible lifestyle.
