J.H. Rose Lacrosse 2016 season MVP
First season playing lacrosse Junior year. Junior year 24 ground balls, 3 takeaways. Senior year 80 ground balls, 5 takeaways.
I am on the varsity lacrosse team at J.H. Rose high school, as well as a four-year letter winner and three-year starter on the varsity football team that was the NC 4A Eastern Regional Champions and State runner-up for 2015. I am 6'0", 205 pounds and consider myself strong and dedicated in the weight room and on the field. I am smart on the field, play my middie/faceoff and inside linebacker positions well in lacrosse and football, and am quick (4.24s shuttle time). I love playing football and lacrosse in high school, hope to win a Championship before I leave, and want to continue with lacrosse or football at the collegiate level to learn more about the game and to make a major contribution to a collegiate team. My NCAA Clearinghouse ID is 1409860682.
You can see my lacrosse video above on my BeRecruited Profile page, and you can see my football HUDL game film at: http://www.hudl.com/athlete/2825337/michael-hickner. I was on the top 10 viewed by college coaches men's lacrosse player list for August, 2016, and am currently listed 3rd in unique coach views out of 1600 BeRecruited men's lacrosse 2017 prospects.
As a student, I am attentive and do what I’m supposed to do in school and in class. I take honors and AP credit courses and currently have a 3.75 weighted GPA. I also volunteer at the Pitt County Animal Shelter during the summer.
"Michael was a new addition to our lacrosse team this year. Even though he was new this year, he was in my opinion one of the most valuable players on our team. He was one of the most effective face off men on our team. He was our most dependable lock down defensive middie that we assigned to the other team's most dangerous threat. He even played man up at the end of the year with his hard left handed shot. His speed, athleticism, and effort were unmatched and he will be looked upon next year to have even bigger roles in our team's overall plan. I truly wish I had 20 more Michael Hickners on my team."
