Academics
Personal
I'm looking for a university environment that can compliment my ability to excel both academically in STEM as well as athletically. I maintain a high standard for myself and work cohesively as a teammate. My father is a former Naval Carrier Aviator who has consistently taught me how to maintain a strong focus in my future, a concentration on teamwork and attention to detail in my work. My goal is to obtain a premier education from a top tier university and be a strong contributor to the baseball teams success on the baseball field. Long term, I'd like to obtain a commission in the Air Force, Navy or Marine Corp and become an aviator.
While scholarship funding is important, I want to attend a university that enhances my academic goals and allows me to continue to play the sport at the highest level I am capable of playing. I feel like I will be capable to receive academic scholarships to compliment my families contribution to my education.
I try to demonstrate my leadership by maintaining a positive character when faced with any distractions or failures.
My parents are both avid athletes and have advanced degrees in exercise physiology. As a result, our family remains active in weight training, mountain biking and functional fitness. I prefer to start my day with a workout prior to my school work, to supplement any afternoon baseball practices and conditioning. I am enrolled in a Weight Training Class in High School to work on areas that I can't get in early in the morning or in afternoon practice. I work hard to have all my academics complete early in the day to ensure I can get quality rest at night.
I assist with the coaching of 10U-13U Recreation and Travel baseball teams in our area. As a volunteer project, I have assembled and delivered care packages to Navy and Marine Corp troops deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan for Operation Enduring Freedom. In addition, I volunteer at the Kanapaha Botanical Gardens to meet my service hour requirements for the Bright Futures Scholarship program.
