Basketball Honors

2 TIME Region 4 class A champions as a Sophomore and Junior with only 1 playing senior each season. 13 rebounds in this season's championship win. Won several AAU tournaments with excellent regional BNY SELECT team in 2 seasons with BNY Select against elite national competition. Finished in final four at major national events at Spooky Nook and Wash DC along with winning Gym Rat bracket.

Basketball Additional

Unselfish multi-faceted player who sees the floor very well and is a great decision maker and teammate. 5-10 very long and athletic. Uses both hands equally handling and inside. Excellent 3 point shooter and driver. Do not need to shoot and score to have a major impact. Love passing, playing defense on perimeter and shot blocking. Can play multiple positions and create mismatches. Was a point guard until major growth spurt as a freshman. Gained 18 pounds of muscle in this past AAU BNY season. I always want to win and will do whatever is best for the team.

Student recognition award Scholar Athlete for Basketball for Vestal

Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

I love basketball and I want to continue to play but school will always be the priority. This past seasons successful results made me realize I can do well playing basketball against top level competition while excelling at school.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

I do not focus on the recognition of scoring. I work to win by helping to make my team mates better. I have worked hard to be an excellent passer and defender and led my team in both categories. I love the physicality of rebounding and almost always get double figures. I am on the floor for loose balls more than anyone. The biggest criticism I receive from my coaches is I do not shoot enough even though I led the team in 3 point shooting % and total.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I participate in full team workouts in the weight room 2 or 3 times a week with my BNY - AAU teammates. I love to work towards always excelling at everything I do. MY GPA IS 3.8, I have perfect attendance at school 5 of last 7 years and I have received awards for being a very good student athlete. Basketball is my love and school is my path to success.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

Fixing homes for under privileged- participated 3 years for week long work camps.
Helping less fortunate is always going to be a foundation of my approach to life.
Multiple volunteerism for local youth basketball and field hockey events and camps.
