My love for playing volleyball goes beyond the time on the court. It has become an intricate part of my life. I enjoy playing and teaching the game to younger players. Last year, I became a certified official for the Carolina Region and I very much enjoy officiating during the season. To be recruited by a college would allow me the opportunity to continue playing, mentoring and officiating. It is my dream to continue the sport throughout my life and share my love for it with others.
I began my volleyball career at fourteen and I was young and inexperienced. I was teased because I could not overhand serve a ball. It was very disheartened, but I continue to train hard and reach my goal. Through this experience I have lead my teammates to be patient with one another and help each other with their weaknesses and strengths. Recently, I established a non-profit organization, Block Out Bullying, to help raise awareness against bullying on and off the court. It is important for each of us to lead by example in our lives.
