Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

I would like to be recruited to run in college, because running has been a very large part of my life for almost seven years. I very much enjoy the feeling of camaraderie when being with like-minded people who enjoy running as much as I do. While this is important, I also actively maintain a mindset that I will do whatever I am doing to the best of my abilities, which makes running to my goal times all the more fun.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

Throughout the last few years of track and cross country, my school has gotten many underclassmen who join the sport of running with the expectation of possibly not having a great time due to the fact that they don’t particularly enjoy running. Being the team captain m, when I see that this is the case, I very much enjoy showing them how great one can feel when they do something to the best of their abilities. This, I believe, is the main priority for most runners, as it should be, which is why I find so much joy in being the team Captain and seeing how much of an impact running can make on anyone’s life.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

Throughout both cross country and track seasons, which takes up every week of the year but four, I am consistently concerned with my diet as well as my sleep schedule. I try to stay away from sodas and desserts as much as possible, otherwise I would feel sluggish for my workout the next day. I also consistently get 8-9 hours of sleep nightly so I am mentally strong each day.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.
