Volleyball Additional

I am a junior college transfer from Indian River State College in Fort Pierce FL where I competed on a volleyball scholarship for two years. At IRSC I was a starting Outside and Middle, and feel with my blocking ability I would be an asset as a Right Side. I have taken a year off to find the direction I want for academics. I am looking forward to being apart of a team again and playing the sport I love.

Other Academic Information
I am a junior college transfer from Indian River State College in Fort Pierce FL where I competed on a volleyball scholarship for two years. I have completed my AA degree at Indian River and I am currently taking prerequisite courses for the radiography program. I would like to continue playing volleyball, I took a year off to figure out what direction I wanted to take with academics. I have stayed active with volleyball this season by being a volunteer assistant coach here at Indian River. I also attend an open gym twice a week where I compete with coeds on a mens height net.

Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

I believe I have demonstrated leadership on and off the court by not only participating in volleyball but also coaching it. I have acquired a well rounded knowledge of the game by having these experiences, I plan to apply this to my future years of playing.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I pursue a "healthy athletic performance" as a student athlete by putting school work and volleyball first. I am able to cook myself healthy meals while also practicing with the team and working hard in the class room.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

As an athlete at Indian River State College we worked with the salvation army and also volunteered at community events. I believe it is important to stay active and give back to my community.
