Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

I want to symbolize the college athlete as a dream that every american kid sees. I never forgot my targets even when everyone else has. I want to represent the idea that people with passion can achieve they're dreams. I am always open to new opportunities. I am on a mission and this very specific quest. I want to finally show the world what Jake Lord can do. I wasn't the best student yet I want to make my mark in the world. I have this fire to pursue playing sport in college, it could of been a thousand different things but I use my 24 hours everyday wisely to prepare myself for anything, It is just the matter of who from the next level will realize how much better I get everyday and see my potential. The bottom line is I strive to be better everyday and playing sports in college is how I express that belief.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

Assistant Football Coach:12th Grade, McQuaid Big Brother: 11th-12th Grade, Varsity Football Captain: 12th Grade, CYO Basketball Captain: 9th-12th Grade, AAU Basketball Captain:11th-12th Grade, JV Tennis Captain: 9th Grade. Karios 67 Retreat Leader. Phoenix 7 Retreat Leader. CEO of Ding!, a community helping hands "business"(I enjoy to think of it as a belief system) doing everything for my neighborhoods in my community from yard work to tutoring, I am hiring workers due to the high demand.
I lead in majority by example,
FOOTBALL ACHIEVEMENTS: NYSPSHAA TOP 100: Summer 2015, Northeast US Football Combine Finalist, Player of the Year, McQuaid MVP Award, 1st Team All-Area for Offense and Defense (only person in 4 years for both), 2nd team Defense All-Region, All-State Defense Recognition, SCHOOL RECORDS: Weight Room: Heaviest Squat-535, Deadlift 560 (@225lb), Most Tackles for Loss in one game: 6, 800yd Gaser @200lb+-1:39, Most Team Defensive Team Sacks in one season: 45.

I lead by my words before each game this year by a motivational speech of putting football in perspective and making my teammates realize how much we have and being thankful. This can be called a "pump-up" or "pre-game hype", in the moment I was just being myself and expressing myself through speech.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

Athletics are my passion and the journey I am on has no worries of distractions because I love the core values of my sport. I do not think about anything else than getting done what I need to get done the way it needs to get done.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

Community Service: Upstate Homecare:9th Grade(helped explain how medical equipment worked to costumers), St. Lawrence Volunteer and Deacon- 9th Grade-Present: Spring clean up, food drives, alter server., Friends at Strong: 11th-12th Grade: Assisted in Physical Therapy for post-surgery patients., Achievements: University of Rochester Quantum Physics Private Research Summer Intern(5 of 82 applicants were picked) (Recent volunteer work- My HS capstone project) "Rcommunitybikes" - A City organization who represents the human right for physical fitness and freedom of transportation. -Repairing used bikes and donating them to those who can't afford them.
The end of my Junior year, I also distributed some surveys about the correlation between faculty and student beliefs and opinions on everything from using iPads instead of textbooks always to implementing more creative learning into education. This has started to become a little bit of a thing and something people look forward to and I will be passing the legacy on to let it grow with a couple of junior leaders. I plan to bring this very well liked idea to where I go.

Community service is important to me because...
If there is to be peace in the world,
There must be peace in the nations.
If there is to be peace in the nations,
There must be peace in the cities.
If there is to be peace in the cities,
There must be peace between neighbors.
If there is to be peace between neighbors,
There must be peace in the home.
If there is to be peace in the home,
There must be peace in the heart

Simply put, community service sets the spark to the flame and I use my goals and passions to fuel the fire.
