Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?
-
Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

During swim, I lead my team by encouraging them to keep trying their hardest. Practices can be very difficult, but if we are all doing it together and pushing each other to keep trying, it makes it easier and better to go through, so I take leadership in saying "good job" or "one more set left!," and I've noticed this helps everyone come together and work harder. As much as I want to break my own records, I care about my friends times and their personal goals. Positive encouragement very important and I believe this starts from a good leader, inside and also outside of the pool. I take leadership in schoolwork, with my friends and family, and in other sports, organizations and at work. I find that if I take leadership in something I'm participating in, that things get done faster, and more efficiently.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

My performance in the pool definitely is affected by the foods I eat and how much sleep and rest I get. I always try to eat healthy during season, and even in the off season. On a daily basis, I drink a lot of water and this helps me at swim. Outside of pool, studying enough, eating healthy and getting plenty of sleep matters a lot to me. I always do my homework and study for tests and try to do well in school because my grades mean a lot to me. My performance in school and swim, arr effected by many different things and being aware of them helps in order to do the best I can

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.
