Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

Primarily, because I love to play basketball and especially love the camaraderie of sports. Also, I believe that doing sports and exhausting my energy allows me to focus more on my schoolwork.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

I will be captaining my basketball team for the second year next season and so I am a frequent leader in the court and in the locker room. Additionally, my co-captain and I have organized several fundraisers during the summer for our team.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I believe the key to healthy athletic performance requires a mix of hard work and balance with your non-athletic life. You have to work to maintain your physical health but your mental health requires you to spend time on schoolwork, basketball, and friends.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I have done numerous service projects in the last year. Primarily, these have been neighborhood clean up projects and this is important to me because of the way it allows you to connect with the people in your community. Also, I volunteered over the summer at an outdoor environmental camp for younger kids and I really enjoyed it. It was so fun because I could lead and direct all these younger kids and teach them to appreciate different ecosystems on Bainbridge Island in Washington State.
