Athletics and academics go hand in hand, pushing me to become fitter physically and mentally. The balance between these two important aspects in my life has helped me thrive; I would like to continue to improve through college, assisted by the focus rowing provides me.
I follow the New Trier athletics guidelines by having a healthy diet, hydrating throughout the day, getting plenty of sleep, keeping a positive attitude-no matter what–and studying effectively so I have time to focus on my rowing.
I volunteer at my local homeless shelter, Connections For the Homeless (Evanston, IL), because I believe everyone should have a place where they can stay in a safe atmosphere. I want to continue working to help people feel at home and cared for throughout my life.
