I am interested in the team experience and camaraderie associated with college sports! Being a part of a team gives you an instant connection on campus and Many of my club teammates are currently NCAA athletes, and they have said that they really enjoy being part of a diving "family". I am also interested in furthering my skills as a diver and taking it to the "next level". I am looking for mentorship not just from the coaching staff, but from my teammates to increase my diving skills.
BSA National Youth Leadership Training Program Participant, Invited to Return as Instructor 2018,
I am continuing to develop as a student, a diver, and as a person. No one performance defines me! I continue to strive for my personal best, and I believe that is still in the future! My mom always tells me to control those things I can control: Be on time to practice & meets, Have a great attitude, try to make practice and warm up count, Be coachable, Try to improve at least one element with every session, Respect everyone's time and commitment, including my own, Encourage teammates, especially the younger ones, and continue to strive for excellence in all areas of life, to include academics, athletics, and community.
BSA Sea Scouts Environmental Project: provide support to Galveston Bay Fund by cleaning up the bay for future generations and preserving marine life.
BSA Scouting for Food. I am currently an
Alcolyte (Altar Girl) at Holy Comforter Episcopal Church for the past 5 years, I now train younger kids on the duties and responsibilities of the Alcolytes and provide service as the Senior Alcolyte. It is important to provide training to kids on service and duty to God.
Alonzo Swim Academy: I am a certified LifeGuard and Red Cross Water Safety Instructor. My brother and I saw that there was a need for quality swim lessons in our neighborhood so we give reasonably priced private and semi-private lessons to families to ensure that they are competent in the water. My brother and I feel strongly that swimming is the only sport that can save your life! We have been teaching for 2 years now and have had kids go on to join local swim teams who could not swim a stroke. Drowning is the number two cause of accidental death in the State of Texas, and we wanted to be part of the solution.
