Ice Hockey Additional

I am a 17 year old hockey player out of Sudbury Ontario. I am currently playing Jr A in Muskoka for the South Muskoka Shield Jr A. I may not be the fastest or the biggest kid on the ice, but I make up for in it my work ethic and speed. I consider myself a power forward that can set up plays, make big hits, score goals and defend myself when necessary. I am hoping to play pro one day or NCAA college hockey.

Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

I want to be recruited to play sports in college because I believe that I can handle myself at the next level of hockey and pursue my studies at the same time. I've always been multitasking and multitasking my hockey with my school is just my daily routine. I believe college hockey is very competitive and I always play much better when I am around good teammates and play against good hockey players.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

On the ice, I am a leader by my performance, I set the tone for the team and build momentum every shift I am out there. Whether it is making a big hit, scoring a goal, standing up for teammates or whatever the case maybe. Off the ice, I am a leader by showing respect to everyone and making sure that I always smile because if somebody sees me smiling than hopefully it will brighten up their day.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I pursue healthy athletic performance by keeping up with my school studies and staying on top of everything so I can focus on making myself a better hockey player and more importantly, a better person. My grades are something that I take pride in and I will never put effort into something I'm not proud of.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I am involved in my community by putting myself out there and volunteering for my community that I reside in. As a Jr A hockey player, we are constantly volunteering in our community and attending events that our town organizes to bring everybody together. We are heavily involved with helping out kids such as playing road hockey with them, or reading at their schools etc.
