I row for a young program (5th year as a club), so we are still working towards being competitive in larger regattas.
Both my parents were Division I college rowers. In fact, that's how they met. As a result, I was raised in a rowing family, and I want to carry the sport with me throughout my life. I want to be put in a situation to grow as an athlete and eventually win some races.
For my sophomore year, I was a junior captain on my club team. Now, in my junior year, I'm a full captain. In addition to this, I've coached summer learn-to-row camps and occasional novice practices. As an upperclassmen on the team, it's my job to help the younger kids with their transition into high school, and I feel that I do this job well.
I'm currently the treasurer of Barrington High School's Student Council, and through that I work to give back to my school and town community with different programs and events. In addition, I volunteer at several community service programs, such as Save the Bay (an initiative to clean up the Narragansett Bay).
