Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

I want to be recruited to play basketball in college because it allows me to be apart of something bigger. Wherever I end up, I want to make a difference at that place, and I know that being on the basketball team and pursuing excellence in the classroom will give me that opportunity.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

On the court, I am leading by calling out plays and making sure every one is on the right page with our different defenses and schemes. I also talk to my teammates in the huddle and encourage them to give whatever task we are trying to accomplish all their effort. I lead off the court by maintaining a successful lifestyle as a student athlete and taking care of my little sister when my parents are gone.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I maintain a strict diet so that I can fill my body with the correct fuel it needs to recover properly. I also get all of my school work done during the day or at lunch so I can get to bed at the right time and receive 8-10 hours a sleep. This allows my body to heal and recover after practice and strength training.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I serve at my church's Sunday school every week. I also volunteer my time at the local Cerebral Palsy home. I believe giving back to the community helps keep it running properly. I love hanging out with kids and those with special needs and volunteering at these two places as often as I can gives me that opportunity.
