Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

I feel I have more to offer the sport of volleyball than just being a high school volleyball player. I don't want to end my career as a volleyball player in high school. I want to better myself in the sport that I've loved for so long. I want to be a contributor on a team and make a difference. Competing at a higher level is something I knew I wanted to do since I was a freshman playing on a Varsity team. Knowing that I was already good enough to compete with the older more experienced players made me want to be that much better. There is more out there for me to learn and I have room to grow. I have a strong desire to be the best athlete I can be at the college level.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

I am currently the captain of my volleyball team. It is important to me to lead by example. I keep my head held high at all times and try my best to have a positive attitude. I consciously make an effort to compliment my teammates when they do something well, but I am not afraid to constructively correct them if they do something wrong.
I feel I am a leader at home to my little sister and brother. I let them know that it's important to have good grades, give your all when playing sports, and be polite. When they don't want to do their chores, don't want to go to bed or are giving my mom a hard time about something, I try and help them understand why those things are important.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I maintain a healthy athletic performance by playing club volleyball and participating in track. When I am not playing seasonal, club volleyball or participating in track I work out 5 days a week. I maintain a healthly diet and drink lots of water.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.
