Personal Highlights

I am a third-year varsity track & field jumper at Deerfield Academy. I'm a 3-year tri-varsity athlete and a two-year Captain for basketball and track and field. I've played year round basketball and club soccer since age 7, and began track and field in 7th grade. I made the decision to concentrate on track & field at Deerfield Academy my junior year. I'm highly focused on my studies; I'm interested in the biological sciences as a college major.

Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

I believe that sports have developed my whole person since I was child. I learned important skills such as collaborating, work ethic, discipline and a sense of community. I want to continue to develop as a student-athlete in college, to better prepare me for my future career.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.
-
Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.
-
Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

Once a week this Fall I volunteer as a soccer coach to 5 year olds in my nearby community because I am dedicated to teaching kids to stay active and exercise while having fun developing their motor skills. I also have volunteered in Haiti Relief since 2011 after the earthquake because my father is from Haiti and it is a cause important to me and my family.
