First 8th grader to play Varsity Hockey at Bethlehem High School
I'd love to be recruited to play college hockey because i truly love to play the game. I'd love to play for as long as I can at the highest level I can while getting a proper education in the process.
On the ice I am a leader in many ways, on my 16U team I am the captain and am basically my coaches "right hand man" when it comes to situations including players on the team behaviorally or regarding questions. Off ice I am a member of a program in my school called the Bethlehem Lab School. In this "school inside a school" we are assigned multiple projects and hands on activities which we must complete in small groups. I show leadership because I am almost always on of the leaders in my groups and take a large portion of the responsibility making sure the assignment is done well and under the guidelines.
Athletically I practice daily with my high school varsity team, I also go to my local rink twice a week before school to work on shooting, stick handling, and overall skating endurance and agility. Off ice I go the the gym and workout three to four times a week after school. Academically I come home after practice and finish homework and study for upcoming tests. During school I have a 45 minute period every day where I study with friends and we help each other with topics we need assistance in.
I participate in an event through the Stride program where I help teach mentally or physically disabled children to ride bicycles. I also help coaches in my local youth hockey association with practices frequently and on the bench when i can. These events help me appreciate how fortunate I am to have grown up in the situation that i have as well as the stresses of coaching sports at any level.
