Other Academic Information
I am currently enrolled in the AICE program (Advanced International Certificate of Education ) which is ranked at a higher level than AP and equal to IB. AICE is a rigorous, internationally recognized pre-university curriculum provided by Cambridge University in England. The AICE program of study offers students one of the most demanding and rigorous college preparatory programs in the world. AICE courses and examinations in the United States are equivalent to first-year college and university courses. Most universities in the United States award students advanced standing and academic credit for Cambridge examinations passed. Today, all students passing AICE examinations may earn up to 45 hours of college credit at all public universities and colleges in Florida, and the state’s Bright Futures program recognizes AICE diploma recipients who also complete the required community service hours with the Florida Academic Scholars Scholarship.

Personal Highlights

I believe I am a team first player. I find as much joy in the perfect pass to my teammates as I do when I score. My coaches tell me I have an incredible work ethic as I practice 4-5 days a week, always looking to get better. I can play multiple positions when needed however, my strength is playing the 6, 8 and 2 positions. I can use both feet well and I am comfortable on both sides of the field.

While I love soccer and it is my passion, I take my academics very seriously. I should have enough credits hours upon graduating high school and completion of the AICE program to enter college as a sophomore. I currently hold a 4.6 weighted GPA and a class rank in the top 5% of my class.

I plan to major in Biomedical Engineering so that I can design athletic prosthesis for children. I work with some awesome kids every year with the Top Soccer Outreach Program who also love soccer but can't compete because of their disabilities. I believe that we can develop artificial limbs to enable kids to compete in many sports besides track. I want to be a part of that.

Thank you for taking time to view my profile.

Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?
-
Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.
-
Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.
-
Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I have been lucky to have the opportunity to be involved with the TOPSoccer program over the last three years. TOPSoccer (The Outreach Program for Soccer) is a community-based soccer program that is designed to meet the needs of children with physical and/or mental disabilities.

My role is to help teach these awesome kids the game of soccer but I believe they have taught me more than I have taught them. Working with challenged athletes is what inspires me to become a biomedical engineer. I want to help ensure that anyone can play the game that I have come to love; as well as any sport they choose regardless of their disability.
