Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

Being recruited, regardless of the results, will prepare me to be more successful in life after sports. I'll have to apply skills that will help me not just get jobs, but be better equipped to choose professions and education majors because I'll learn what's truly important to me and work toward achieving those goals. I think you really get to know yourself, as well as how to conduct yourself with authority figures, during the recruiting process.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

Selected as team captain on all youth teams. Selected as Game Captain 4 of 10 freshman games. Will work with players outside of practice to improve their skills. As a mentor a younger athlete I demonstrate by example how important grades are and discuss the importance of effort in everything he does.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

In addition to the weight training and conditioning we receive in school, I attend outside training to make sure I never get sedentary and am always improving. I balance that with a strong sense of academic purpose, achieving a 4.0 the last three years. I make sure I have a balance of protein and carbs for muscle building and energy, and drink water all day, every day.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I was a volunteer assistant instructor, teaching young people karate. This raised their self-confidence while improving their physical conditioning. I also assist youth football coaches, showing players correct technique to keep them safe.
