Lacrosse Honors

3 year Varsity lacrosse player

Lacrosse Additional

During my time off from playing due to the knee injury I tough our school lacrosse team our defense strategy and assisted our varsity coach. I also assisted my club coach Coach Gierok in coordinating defense with him. This helped me to learn the game from a coaches perspective which helps tremendously when applying the knowledge to the game. I will be back playing lacrosse in January 2018

Personal Highlights

I am currently a junior at Lake Highland Preparatory School in Orlando Florida and have been playing club lacrosse for six years, JV lacrosse in 6th and 7th grade, and Varsity since 8th grade. I am extremely passionate about Lacrosse. I love being a defender and the challenge of stopping the opponent from scoring or getting close to the goal. The days I am not playing lacrosse I work out with our school fitness coach.
In May 2017 I tore my ACL playing against an Oregon team. I delayed my surgery until the end of summer so I could play the summer tournaments with my club team. After playing all summer tournaments I had my surgery on July 28th and after 4 1/2 months I was cleared to play in mid December. I will give my knee two more months to fully heal and be ready for the 2018 Varsity season.
I am looking for a college that is either Urban or suburban close enough to a larger city preferably in the Northeast, East or West coast. I am committed to working hard to play lacrosse and also work hard to keep up my studies and my passion for volunteer service. (Close to 400 hours so far in high school)

Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

I have a very deep passion for the game. For me it has been torture to rest during my recovery time after surgery but I was able to get cleared 4 and half months after the surgery. I worked hard at PT and will make sure not to overwork until I am completely ready to play at our upcoming varsity season

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

In May 2017 I unfortunately tore my right knee ACL playing against an Oregon team. I didn't really know until 3 weeks later that I had a bad injury and continued playing. When we found out that it was torn we decided to continue playing throughout the summer and attend all the planned tournaments. I had my special brace and had a blast. At the end of July I had my surgery and during the next 5 months I decided to stay involved with my club team. I coached some of the younger girls and also the JV players of my school team. I even attended Presidents Cup as an assistant coach to my team. I really enjoyed coaching defense to the younger players.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I practice with my team but take it a step further and go daily or the days I have to practice to work out with out fitness coach at school. He works on my strength, balance and agility. Coach Thomas Scott is one of the the best fitness coaches in the US

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I currently volunteer since 2015 at Orlando Health in Ocoee and have so far accumulated close to 300 hours working on Sundays at their front desk or taking care of patients that are being released.
