Personal Highlights

I am a three sport athlete and an honors student with a 3.70 GPA, and I understand the value of hard work on and off the court and field. I have started every high school game in each of my sports and I have never missed a game due to injury. I am a competitor and a team player, and my coaches tell me I am very coachable. I am 6'4" tall and 215 pounds as a freshman and I have a lot of growing to do.

Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

I LOVE sports. I am competitive and like being a part of a team. I feel like I am my best self when I am physically active and many of my happiest memories have been with my teammates. I want to play at the next level and I want to work in a field that allows me to stay connected to sports. I studied sports medicine in high school and want to continue working in the medical field. I would also like to earn some scholarship money to help pay for my education and reduce the financial burden on my family.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

I have been the team captain on a number of teams. I try to lead by example and balance hard work with relationship building and fun. I work to encourage younger players, help them with their skills, and focus on building their confidence. My academics are strong so I also tutor other players and help them be strong student athletes.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I work hard to take care of my body by eating right, getting enough sleep, hitting the gym, and getting in some extra practice time. I also work to have balance in my life between athletics, academics, friends, and family. I perform better on the court/field when I am taking care of all areas of my life. It allows me to stay physically strong, and mentally focused.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

We volunteer as a team to feed the homeless in our community. It feels good to help others and also helps me keep perspective on my own problems.
