I do not play Waterpolo or Basketball.
I want to be recruited to swim In college because I have dedicated the past 3 nearly 4 years of my life to my swim training. I have sacrificed many things for swim and would love to see it help me get into college along with my grades and possibly even earn me a scholarship to help me pay for college.
One example of myself demonstrating leadership on my swim team occurs when I encourage and push the upcoming 9th graders that are transitioning from the middle school group to the high school group. During practice I will push them by racing them and telling them to push through it and go faster. After practice I will encourage them by telling them they did good on a particular set and to keep it up. One example of how I demonstrate leadership away from my team is when I am coaching. This summer I have recently started coaching a summer league neighborhood team. I show leadership by making sure I always arrive to practice and meets early, helping teach the new swimmers the correct technique for their strokes, and encouraging them to keep going even when they become frustrated and always lett them know I believe in them and that I am there to help them.
As a student athlete, I pursue a healthy athletic performance by balancing swimming, school, and my personal health. I put school and my grades first on my priorities. I make sure to get all of my studies and work done by managing my time as wisely as I can to make sure I have time to practice daily and get a healthy amount of sleep and keep my grades as high as I can in school.
I am involved in both Key Club and the National Beta Club at my school. Both clubs are service based clubs that volunteer and help in my community. I have been in both of these clubs starting my freshman year. The efforts that both of these clubs and I have put in to help the rest of the community is very important to me because it brings me joy to help others who may not be as fortunate as myself In my community.
