Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

I want to run in college because I love to do it. I am highly competitive and like to improve and work hard. I decided I wanted to run in college after I went on my first college visit. This particular school did not have a track team and for some reason that was holding me back from loving it. I knew then that I wanted to continue my athletic career as well as my academic one in a competitive setting.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

I am blessed to have an amazing coach, school and teammates. However, practice is very much so what you put into it. I chose to work hard everyday and remind under classman to try hard and to compete. As reigning MVP, I show the younger girls the work I put in. At the beginning of the season I was the first one there and the last to leave. Around the end of the season, I noticed the other girls staying later and asking me for additional workout ideas. I loved watching the girls who were new to the team grow this season. They put in the work, but they needed the extra guidance to do so. Off the field, well, off the track... I am a leader in the class room and in my hometown. I lead Sunday worship services in the praise band, hold office in student council and FFA, and have recently been accepted as a LEAD mentor in my school. Out of these, the LEAD mentor role is the biggest. The selected few mentors help incoming freshman with the struggles of high school and life. I am also one of the few in my class that is a part of National Honor Society.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.
Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

Community service has made me the person I am today. Whether helping out at the local blood drive or waking up to lead worship with our praise band on Sundays, I love all that I can do for and within my small town. I also love what I have done outside of my town, including; 5 mission trips and Habitat for Humanity. These efforts are extremely important to me because they have shaped me into who I am today. Without being so involved in my community, I may not have the goals, dreams, or head on my shoulders that I do now. I hope to continue to grow and serve at college.
