Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

I love the game of soccer. I feel that the game makes me a more well rounded individual. It provides a release from my academic stresses. I believe I would miss that outlet and I am not ready to stop playing at a high level.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

I am a member of National Honor Society at my school. NHS acts in a leadership role academically within the school and has service oriented committees of which I serve on. I was team captain for my previous club team for two years. I know that being captain (and a leader) is about more than the title and wearing a band on your arm. I know it's about all the things that may seem little as well: being the last to leave because you made sure the benches were cleaned up after a match, helping with set up at practice, encouraging your teammates, and keeping your cool when things get heated on the field. Leadership both on an off the field is about conducting yourself in a way you would like others to model.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I work out at least five days a week to include running, lifting weights, and field work. I believe that physical fitness gives you an edge on the field and I've seen it win games.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

My family has a big background in volunteer work. I believe it is an important and very necessary ingredient to make positive change in a community. I volunteer once a week at my school as a math tutor and have volunteered the past two summers as a camp counselor at a local science-based day camp. I am also involved in the school beautification committee associated with National Honor Society at my high school.
