Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

I can not stand the idea of parting running in a year. I love running and I love competing. I know for a fact that when I get to college I am going to improve significantly. I started running late and I love it so much.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

I am leader on and off the field because I am the leader of all our huddles before our meets. I lead our team prayer and try to get everyone motivated for their race ahead. My favorite thing to do before a race is get the team to stand in a circle and say one goal that each of them want for that meet or even the season. If we start our performance knowing where we want it to end, it helps us strive for it harder.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I pursue a "healthy athletic performance" by balancing academics and athletics equally. I try to schedule my classes perfectly so that they aren't affected by meets and other events. I maintain my academic position at the top 5 of my class all while practicing for Track and Cross Country twice a day. I wake and run with my distance coach twice a week at 6 am then I continue to go to practice during my Advanced PE block offered. On other days, I run during my Advanced PE block and then run again after school. I do all of this while also working a part-time job at Subway in my town on the weekends.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I am involved in my community because I am student representative for Coalition for a Safe and Drug Free Cherokee County. I participate in all these meetings in coming up with ways and finding signs in drug use in my community. I also participate in Med Drops at the local Sheriff's office.
Another community service act I do is called Big Brothers and Big Sisters. In this organization, I am paired up with a younger child at the local elementary school who is a foster child or has a bad home life. This organization allows me to be a role model for a child who may not have anyone else.
