Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

I have a desire to continue to play basketball at a higher level. I want to be able to do what I love for as long as I can and I will work hard and even harder to achieve that goal.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

I have played on varsity since my freshman year I was able to watch older players and learn from them. I was captain of the team this past season and able to lead them and take control and we were able to make it to the state finals. As a team I make it a priority to get the team together and just hangout get to know eachother and become comfortable. I also volunteer in the kids basketball camps our school hosts. Beyond the court I volunteer at a kids camp that lasts a week every summer. Anytime I can help kids especially in the basketball area I love to teach them what I have learned from great coaches and players.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

From freshman year I really focused on academics, and I believe the basis of having a healthy athletic performance is making sure that I perform academically. Another important factor is what I put in my body, I make sure that my body is always in prime shape. What I do on the court comes from all the work I as an athlete do off the court. Working out and inhacing my game in any way is very important as a basketball player.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I think it's beneficial for teenagers to be involved in the community. As an athlete, kids look up to their peers and for me to be an example to kids helps them and it helps me. I have kids run up to me at school and give me hugs just because they admire what we do out on the court and it makes me realize these kids look up to me. Again I am involved in serving in children's ministry at church along with a summer camp.
