3 year varsity award - scholar athlete
Diving has taught me so many things thus far but most importantly for me, it has taught me discipline. It has given me the drive and determination to do whatever I set my mind to, which is why I would like to continue it in college.
I am the diving captain for my school's varsity team. This opportunity has given me the privilege to help my team mates both physically (on the board) and academically (in the classroom).
To me a "healthy athletic performance" not only means practicing at practice but outside of the pool as well. Running a mile everyday before practice has built my stamina both physically and mentally, enabling me to excel.
Most weekends, I volunteer at the Cold Spring Hills Rehabilitation center and help prepare food for the elderly. I am also involved in 3 Honor Societies in my school (Science, Spanish, & National) where we are required to complete 10 hours of community service for each society, each year that we are involved in it, this year being my third year.
