Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

I want to be recruited to play basketball in college because I love the sport. I have played basketball ever since I was little with my brothers and I have always loved it. I know that college is a lot different than high school but if I didn't play basketball I know I would miss it more than anything so I want to take playing basketball to a new level. I also want to make new friendships with my teammates with whatever college I go to. I want to have that new experience and see what it feels like.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

I try to be a leader everywhere I go. When I am playing the sports I play I try to be as helpful as i can and make sure our team is in a good mood. As a team captain or not I still try to make a difference and help out everyone. Off the court or field I try to be a leader at school. For example, in class someone will be having a hard time in class and I notice I try to help them understand what is going on more and help with whatever they need and other people start helping others. Another example is I don't mess around in class and I'm always trying to set a good example for my fellow classmates.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I make sure that I go to bed at a good time every night and I eat healthier foods. A big thing for me is before every game I stretch. I have pulled muscles in different places like my lower back and my abdominal muscle and i had a bunch of micro tears in my left quad. Going through those experiences made me realize that stretching is way more important than anything before a game.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

In my community I try to get involved with most things. For insistence, I ran a 5k for Will to Live and I help out at everything I can. Will to Live is a charity for people with cancer. They are important to me because I like to help and make a difference in the community.
