Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

I am a competitive player that truly enjoys playing the sport of volleyball. As an athlete I feel it helps keep my mind and body always in tune and performing at its best. I am goal oriented and succeed by putting all of my effort towards my wants. By playing the sport I love, to the best of my ability, and striving to earn the academic degree that I want to achieve, I feel being a student athlete goes hand in hand.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

I feel I am a leader both on the field and off. I really try to rally the team and motivate us to work together. By remaining positive and enthusiastic the energy is contagious. Because of this I was elected as team Captain. Off the field I am very active in my community, as stated above, having earned the rank of Eagle Scout at the young age of 14. I continue to lead and give back to the community in various aspects. I currently help assist with a local Explorer program based out of Somers Fire Department and help in any capacity I can.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

Healthy athletic performance is not just playing on the court. I have a personal trainer that works me daily on a physical fitness and nutritional program that is helping me to hit harder and jump higher. I also feel that my high academic level helps to challenge me mentally and create a healthy mind which assists all aspects of my life and achievements.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

Being involved in the community is very important to me. I have attained the rank of Eagle Scout within the Boy Scouts of America, which is the highest rank attainable. I had to complete a large service project based in the community, as well as many other smaller projects along the way, in order to achieve this award. I continue to give back to younger Scouts in our area by being a youth leader. I am also a board-member of a local University outreach program that awards scholarship money to youth led projects within the community.
