DeMeisha is a freshman this school year and she is playing Varsity, which she started. DeMeisha was also honored with th H.A. Dillard Scholar Athlete Award in 8th grade. |

Personal
Basketball is the sport that I love. Playing sports in college is a personal goal of mine. I would like to expand my horizons of basketball. I would also love to get the younger girls to notice that playing basketball doesn't necessarily make you a "tomboy".
When I started high school, i played basketball on the Varsity team as a freshman. I played with girls that were older than be of course, but some of them needed help in areas that I was really good in and vice versa. Off the court, I try to show my younger siblings positive models. I have friends that are sometimes lost in negativity, and I always give them advice and I show them that they can do certain things without all the problems and most importantly with respect.
As a student athlete I pursue healthy athletic performances by working twice as hard during off season. I'm not the player that plays real hard during the season and then relaxes in the summer. I believe that I shouldn't put off what I could do at the time for sitting around and "chilling" .
My mother is a nurse's assistant and she works in a nursing facility. I am currently trying to set something up as to where I could come and give some of the residents company and make them feel loved. This is important to me because everyone deserves someone to be happy with. It warms my heart to know that I could make someone smile.
