Junior Olympics in San Jose
July 30, 2018
2018 National Junior Olympics has just wrapped up, and once again my SOCAL White team advanced to the 1-2 Finals, bringing home the Silver in our division. Injuries and roster issues were a challenge for us, and fortunately goalie Lauren stepped in to play field throughout the tournament. I suffered a ruptured eardrum during high school summer practice that forced me to sit out JO qualifiers and three weeks in the pool. While it healed, I focused on strength training, and with just a week and a half to get up to speed, I split pool time between the Hale Tournament and the California High School Championships over the same weekend. We played well throughout JOs, and my hard work payed off with some good plays, including two big saves to keep us in medal contention, and two goals during the Gold Medal game. To those college coaches who came out to watch me play, thank you!
