On February 12th, 2015, I had spinal surgery for scoliosis. The surgery happened in Shriners Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. After that procedure, I wanted to run instead of playing soccer. I got into cross country and track in 7th grade, then did modified soccer and track in 8th. By high school, I decided to just stick with cross country and indoor/outdoor track.
I love running and I hope to continue cross country in college while learning about my major.
On the field, I lead runs and help motivate others to either finishing a workout or a race. Off the field, I help others in classes and I help my friends and family in tough situations.
I push myself mainly in school. If I have trouble in a class, I automatically make sure my coach knows so I can focus on that class more. During my freshman year of high school, I didn't join indoor track until halfway through the season because I had to focus on geometry.
I give to others, rarely to never receive. If my friends are in a situation, I make sure I'm right there for them. I donate my clothes and I even a cat that was thrown out in the dumpster where I used to live. I have a job in an ice cream shop and I love giving ice cream to people and seeing a smile on their face.
