Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

I had played school soccer from 7th through 9th grade and then left the program which is a decision I have contradicting feelings towards. The program in my school was very biased towards who could do the most for the coach and be the favorite, it was very political and I didn't enjoy the sport I had grown up loving so I unfortunately had to do what seemed best and left the team. After I stopped playing it gave me more time to volunteer so I was able to begin coaching my youth team. I found my love for soccer again through coaching and began to play again. I joined a new soccer team which has talented and kind teammates, they have showed me that not every team is biased. I want to be recruited because I have found a new meaning for the sport which makes me more determined to continue playing.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

When I played for my school team I was occasionally team captain which is the only proof of team leadership I have. I also have recently joined a club team after being a guest player for them which i hope to become a strong part of. Off of the field I run for an office position of my schools Spanish club. Sophomore year I was historian and junior year i ran for vice president but unfortunately lost but i still remain of the clubs executive committee to help plan meetings.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

It is important to nurture both your body and your mind to further yourself as a player. I frequently lift weights at my local gym and play soccer year round to maintain my skills and strength. For my mind I challenge myself in school and my other extracurriculars so I can be well-rounded.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I volunteer through AYSO to coach a U8 girls soccer team. I feel it's been so beneficial to me as it's such a meaningful experience to be able to influence and teach these girls how to develop not only soccer but team work skills as well.
