I maintain a "healthy athletic performance" by drinking plenty of fluids, eating healthy, and getting more than 8 hours of sleep. Every night before bed I check my agenda to see if I completed everything I had to do for school and baseball. Grades mean everything to me and my parents. I know that grades are important for me so I could attend a college of my choice. I like to stay organize and on top my studies. I do not like to cramp things in late at night.
I go to the gym 3 days a week, batting cages 4 days a week and I practice every day. I must maintain more than a 3.5 GPA so I can play ball. My goal is to graduate with honors from high school. I love the game and I'll give 110% on and off the field. I love spending time with my family and friends and this is how I pursue a "healthy athletic performance as a student-athlete.
I am part of an organization called Baseball Buddies in my community. I volunteer as a buddy/coach to young children with special needs (Autism, Down Syndrome, Mentally Challenged, and wheelchair children). I am paired up with one little boy or girl for the whole game and I encourage them to hit the ball off a tee. I run next to them and show them how to run the bases. I'm by their side, cheering them, and leading them to all the bases. It's important to me to give back to my community, I feel very fortunate that God gave me a special talent to play baseball and the passionate I have for the sport. This is my way to give back and say thank you to our lord.
