Personal
As a competitor, I want to be recruited to play lacrosse in college so that I can continue to play the game that I love, contribute to the success of a collegiate lacrosse program, and build lifelong friendships in the process. I feel I have the work ethic, coachability, and skill needed to compete at the college level, and I would be humbled to eventually see my name on a college lacrosse roster.
On and off the field, I aim to be the best leader and teammate possible. I act as a leader by always working hard, implementing a never-give-up attitude, and communicating respectfully with my teammates and coaches. In social settings and the classroom, I make my own decisions, rather than basing them off of the influence of others, and I hold myself accountable to the highest standards.
Ever since a young age, I have been taught to be a leader instead of a follower, and I strive to live up to the challenge every day. I have received leadership awards such as the Sons of the American Revolution Good Citizenship Award and the President's Award for Educational Excellence.
As a student-athlete, I pursue healthy athletic performance by focusing on time-management, organizational skills and mental fortitude. By keeping an organized schedule, and managing my time effectively, I have successfully navigated the challenging balance of strong academic achievement, while participating in two (2) Varsity sports throughout the school year (Ice Hockey and Lacrosse) as a freshman and current sophomore.
Another aspect of pursuing a healthy athletic performance is maintaining a mentally tough mindset, and focusing on the next opportunity rather than the previous mistake.
I am involved in service throughout my community in a number of ways. At school, I attend Justice League meetings, learning the social crises of the modern world and how to make a change. Also, I take part in the Labre Project, helping to feed the homeless of Northeast Ohio on Monday evenings. These efforts are important to me because they assist those who are less fortunate, while also keeping me grounded, appreciative and humble.
