Personal Highlights

I am a hard working player and I've been told I have a good basketball IQ and that I am very coachable. I can also be viewed at texasbasketballscouts.com I have numerous video in my HUDL account. I can send personal video to any interested coach. As a side note I also play golf for my high school team, I am involved in multiple projects and organizations in my school and community and I was fortunate to be chosen to attend 2019 Texas Boys State. Thanks for considering me

Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

I think sports is a passion for me. I have considered that I may have a calling to be a coach someday. Sports gives me balance and I've played various sports my entire life. Finally coming into high school by sophomore year I had to narrow down my desires for sports. Basketball and golf emerged as the sports I enjoyed and felt like I could continue to improve. I hope to play at a college level but if that doesn't work out for me, I'll find intramural sports at my college/university so I can continue to play!

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

I was a captain of my JV squad this year and although this may not sound so impressive at our school we have an EXTREMELY strong basketball program and it is difficult to be considered a leader and stand out on the court. Although I consider this one way I lead my team I think my biggest leadership contribution is that I work nonstop at a high speed throughout our practices and I hope to be leading by example to my teammates. I think how you work in practice equates to all the things you do in life...giving 100%

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I think balance is the key to a healthy athletic performance. I'm a thinker and I know if I'm worried that I'm not doing well in school or have a big test that I haven't prepared for, it will affect everything to include my athletic performance. I try to stay on top of things at school first and foremost. Additionally nutrition is a huge piece of performance for me. I am not a big eater but I have come to realize food and water are fuel and that I have to stay on top of nutrition so my mind and body don't shut down when my team needs me.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

My basketball club was a very community engaged program over the last few years. Although the club disbanded this year we spent countless hours volunteering at community food banks and Habitat for Humanity community projects. In addition our coach scheduled team volunteer hours, often 10 a month, to raise money thru various fundraisers for our team tournaments or trips. At my school I spend time volunteering as a math tutor for younger students at my high school. I had a great math teacher when I was in the 7th grade at Randolph and I was two years advanced in mathematics. I go in a volunteer throughout the year with students for my former teacher. I feel like I have this gift of math and I seem to be good at teaching it to other people so I spend my time trying to help others who may not be as strong in math.
