Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

I play hard. I work hard. I am passionate about playing volleyball. I love this sport and am growing to become a more well rounded player. I am a 10th grader that plays middle and outside hitter on my high school varsity team. My goal is to play for college. I love the team spirit and the personal growth I obtain from being on high school and club teams. I always strive to find the positive, no matter good or bad, and have the mentality that a game is not over until the game ends.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

On and off the court, teams are not always "rainbow and sunshine". There are tough moments synergy cannot overcome. I now understand that volleyball is a very mental sport. I am always the one to uplift my team, make them feel good and provoke the best player inside that I know they can be. I encourage positive energy and help in any way I can to get the much anticipated side out or get the team "out of their head".
In school, projects often require group effort. I tend to step up and be the leader in the group. I enjoy getting everyone on task, encouraging a silver lining on how to succeed, asking questions that have a necessary effect on the point the group should be leading toward, and inspiring self-initiated opinions.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

It is not easy, but I get the job done. Studying and time management are the ideal goals I pursue on a daily basis. As a student, it is easy to get distracted from your primary tasks and responsibilities. Since volleyball is what I aspire to in college, I continually work hard to keep not only my body conditioned, but also my grades on task. Prioritizing my responsibilities and getting the rest I need helps me to continue to be the best that I can be.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

There are many opportunities for me to express my care for the community. I take advantage of those opportunities not only to help those in need, but for my personal growth. I enjoy serving others because of the heartfelt warmth I receive from others when they express their appreciation with smiling faces and sincere gratitude. For years, I have been a member of NCL (National Charity League), a mother/daughter philanthropy organization, that provides community service and promotes leadership and cultural enrichment to those who serve. I am deeply influenced and devoted to helping churches, nursing homes, animal shelters, children's hospitals, and food banks, to name a few.
