I personally feel like just to say I played a sport on the college level would be a very impressive thing to say in the future, especially during interviews. Also I’m extremely committed to the sport and with how hard I’ve been training/conditioning, I know I’m gonna be a runner my whole life.
I am a Junior Counselor every year at Camp Robbins where I watch over kids and try to give them the best experience I can! On my team I always encourage my teammates on distance to cool down and lead stretches so no one gets injured.
It’s always hard to balance academics and athletics, but I know where my priorities lie. I make time for studying, homework, & volunteering. With this, I also know when it’s important to ice, recover, and do everything I can after a practice so I’m fresh for the next day’s practice. This routine has been working for my as I’ve never missed practice because of an injury and have trained even when it’s not required.
I volunteer every Sunday at the Lap4Life youth club. I am a counselor trying to get kids to pursue running!
