Other Academic Information
I am an active member of six of my high school's clubs: Art Club, ACS Chemistry Club, Environmental Club, Latin Club, Science Club, and Spanish Club. Additionally, I have recently created the Women's Empowerment Club at my high school to help my peers gain confidence and pride as young women. Also, I am a member of six honor societies: The Honors Society of Collegiate Scholars, National Art Honors Society, National Honors Society, National Junior Honor Society, National Spanish Honors Society, and Torch and Laurel National Honor Society. Additionally, I am a devoted member of my high school's Envirothon academic team. In 2017, my Envirothon team and I placed first in the county-level competition and competed at the Pennsylvania state competition, where we placed sixteenth out of sixty-four teams.

Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

I am an avid athlete and absolutely cherish physical activities. Volleyball, hiking, and strength training are my favorite hobby athletics, while rowing is my favorite team sport. I am a competitive individual as well and college level athletics encompass great competition and athletic ability. I want to play college sports because of my devotion and great enjoyment of competitive athletics.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

On the water, I demonstrate a leadership role by maintaining the bow seat position. At which, I instruct my teammates directions to ensure maximum success as well as give encouragement to further my teammate's determination for success in races and during practices. During the winter season on ergs, I continue to maintain a leadership role by being a coxswain for teammates during their erg races.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

As a student-athlete, I strength train to enhance my physical abilities and increase injury prevention. Also, I record everything I eat every day in Under Armor's MyFitnessPal app to ensure my consumption properly fuels all of my practices and workouts to avoid exhaustion, injury, or loss of focus or ability to perform.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

As an active member in my community, I donate produce to the local food bank from my family's large garden every summer and fall. Also, I give presentations to my school district (Canon McMillan School District) elementary school students to enhance their education of environmental and biological sciences. During which, my environmental club peers and myself present live specimens to the students to increase student-animal interactions. We normally present Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches, Russian Turtles, Poison Dart Frogs, Pacman Frogs and Bearded Dragons to the elementary school students.
