Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

I love swimming, and I love the bonds that you are able to form as a part of a team.
I have been swimming for 8+ years but I know that my body has more to give to the sport. I want to continue competing and make more friends on a new team.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

I have been team captain for the high school swim team for the past two years. I have also been a part of the “Student Athlete Leadership Committee,” and am involved in NHS. I am the leader of my local church youth group and have been for four years.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

A “healthy athletic performance” does not stop with physical health, but includes mental and emotional health as well. As a team captain, I try and promote a “familial vibe” within my team so that all of my teammates are able to feel comfortable with those around them, and that these years on the team will be as enjoyable as possible. Enjoying the sport is a big part of a healthy athletic performance because you are more likely to have a positive artitude at practice and meets, and to uplift those around you.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I volunteer for the community through NHS and my church group. I often volunteer at retirement homes, animal shelters, and elementary schools. My dream is to help people all around the world through (hopefully through an organization like Doctors Without Borders), but I can start helping people now, beginning with my community.
