St. Lawrence University Girls Basketball Camp 2018, nominated for team MVP, won "Coach's Choice" award for attitude, effort and coachability. In 2016 & 2017, was nominated for "Coach's Choice" award both years (out of over 100 participants). Starter on Varsity Summer League 2018 (just finished 9th grade).
Began private one-on-one training with Dual Athletics coach, Tim McKenzie, out of Clarkson University. Although the majority of his clients are female, he feels that Rhea is one of the best females he has ever worked with and that she could definitely go on to play Division 1 basketball in college. He currently works with the girls at SUNY Potsdam and says that Rhea's skills are nearly on par with theirs (she is only a high school freshman this year). Additionally, Rhea's 7/8 travel team (last year) was nearly undefeated across the North Country. They even traveled to Portland, Maine and won the multi-state tournament there against teams from Vermont and Maine.
Selected to play Varsity in 10th grade at a Section X, Class A school. Moved up to JV in 8th grade, and was playing in non-league games at the Varsity level in 8th grade. Was a starter on the Varsity team during summer league. Also played JV soccer as Wing as a freshman and sophomore.
I have been working with Tim McKenzie who runs Dual Athletics out of Clarkson University. He told me that I am good enough to play Division 1 college basketball and that I was one of the best females he has ever coached (and most of his clients are girls). This got me thinking that I may have a future in college basketball. I also love to play soccer and always thought that I would be able to go on and play college soccer. I have always been the best soccer player in my age group and usually play with the older girls during summer soccer.
I have generated interest from my friends and teammates to collect old blankets, food and toys for the Humane Society and donated it to them. I also get my friends to help support local causes by doing volunteer work for them.
I do not smoke, drink or do drugs. I also try and eat healthy foods. I naturally stay active playing sports year-round.
I volunteer with my teams and on my own selling raffle tickets, doing yard clean-ups and car washes. I volunteer to help other local non-profit organizations, and I help my coaches with the younger players by assistant coaching, running the clock, and recording the games.
