There are 2 main reasons I would like to play volleyball in college. The first would be because I absolutely enjoy every aspect of the game. I play 3 sports currently in high school and by far the volleyball court is where I enjoy spending all my time. One might ask, if I enjoy the sport so much why not just devote all my time to it. We are a small school and it takes everyone to make each sport successful. I am a 3 sport varsity athlete-volleyball, basketball, and tennis. I enjoy the sports I play and I contribute differently in each sport, but by far volleyball is top choice. Secondly, would be for financial reasons. I would love to go to college on an academic scholarship but to also be a member of a team, my dreams would be fulfilled. My parents have sacrificed so much for me. If at any point I could lessen the burden of the cost of college on them it would be such a blessing. I feel my talents and personality would be a great fit for any team looking to place a hard working and dedicated player on their team.
I am a 3 sport varsity athlete on the National Honor Society which means time management is key. I have a great home and school support system in my family and my coaches. They have taught me by example how to be an effective student athlete. Being talented in a sport doesn't mean anything if the grades and character are not a part of you. I stay true to my faith, work hard to improve on my skills and find time to challenge my brain so I can excel in the classroom.
I am an active member in the Kiwanis Key Club and Rotary Interact Club. I am an active member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church where I am a server and help with Sunday Children's service. All of these organizations are very dear to my heart. My parents have raised me with a great understanding in the importance of giving back. I have been blessed with a happy and healthy home life, but their are many individuals in my community that have not been. Through these organizations I have had the privileged of ringing the bells at Christmas time for the Salvation Army. In the fall we gathered food and delivered to the local food pantries. We have made little library houses that were placed around town for individuals to pick up books when they can't get to the library. At Thanksgiving we served hot meals at the local banquets.
