Personal Highlights

I have a large family and love spending time with them and my friends. I am the oldest of 3 girls and my younger sisters are twins!

If you are looking for me I am either on the Field Hockey field or at the beach!

Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

I love being part of a team, representing my school, and sharing a common goal as my teammates!
I have also found that playing a sports helps me to earn better grades too and I want to continue this in college.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

I was one of two starting Freshman on the Varsity team and was in a brand new position (defense) after being a successful forward for several years, including being a top scorer for my middle school. I took this opportunity to learn this new position and earned a starting spot on Varsity. It definitely made me a better player, overall and I earned the trust and respect of my teammates. In my Sophomore season, I received the Chief Award for Field Hockey, which represents an athlete who is a consistent leader on and off the field and one who represents Kempsville High, well. In addition, my coach chose me along with two other teammates, to represent my school at S.A.L.T (Student Athlete Leadership Training) this year, which was a lot of fun.

Outside of Field Hockey, I am an A/B Honor Student and I volunteer in my community, and am also an active participant of DECA, where I earned a 2nd place finish in the Regional competition which moved me on to the VA State competition. I am also a member of Young Life.

I believe these examples show how I am a leader athletically and academically.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

Sleep is so important and with a busy schedule, it sometimes is hard to get enough of it. When I get enough sleep, I am better on the field and in my classes!

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I volunteer at my former Elementary school. My sisters were also students there and I want to show them that it is good to go back and help out. I have also volunteered with the Special Olympics Volleyball championships, which was inspiring and a lot of fun.

I also help coach the Field Hockey team at my former Middle School ! It is a lot of fun to teach the game to younger players. I hope it will help me to be a better player too.

I think it is important to volunteer in the community and have enjoyed my experiences.
